Autumn Oatmeal Recipe

I love this recipe because it is naturally sweetened with apple juice. I like my oatmeal sweet, but I feel like adding in a lot of brown sugar negates the health benefits of eating oatmeal for breakfast. This was my favorite way to eat oatmeal growing up, and it makes me happy to see my own kids enjoy it as well! Follow the instructions below to try it for yourself!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1/4 cup oat bran
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 cup diced fresh apples

Directions

Bring the liquids to a boil. Reduce heat to low, and stir in the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 5-10 minutes (or until liquid has evaporated).
